Questions about learning Spanish by email
- Is it really free?
- Yes. No card and no trial. The daily email and the workbooks are free.
- Do I need to know any Spanish?
- No. It's written for beginners. The welcome email brings a starter workbook with the 40 words to learn first, and every word in the daily email comes with its meaning and a phrase.
- How long does it take each day?
- A few minutes to read the email, then get on with your day. The workbook is there for when you have longer, at your own pace.
- What if I miss a day, or join halfway through the year?
- The next email arrives as usual. There is no start to miss either: each date has its own 3 words, so 12 months after you join you have seen them all.
- How does Tres Palabras teach Spanish?
- Little and often. Each morning's email brings 3 words, a phrase for each that shows the word in use, and a short note on how Spanish works: where a word comes from, a pattern in the grammar, or where Spain and Latin America differ. Once a month, a workbook brings that month's words together with the grammar they share and exercises to practise them.
- Why 3 words a day?
- Three is enough to learn properly in a few minutes, every day. Each word comes with a phrase, because seeing a word in use helps it stick. Over a year, that adds up to 1,095 words.
- What's in the monthly workbook?
- All of the month's words with example sentences, the grammar they share explained in plain English, exercises with the answers at the back, and a short read in simple Spanish. You can type into it on screen or print it. The download link is in the daily email.
- Why no streaks, points or leaderboards?
